ABOUT US
The Measure of Passion
Càlibri was born from the union of the surnames Calvia and Brianda to seal the will of two people, their values and passions. By assonance, the name Càlibri refers to measuring instruments and therefore to precision, concreteness, and tradition.
Pietro is the last scion of a long-standing family of farmers. He inherited the family business in 2000, integrating sheep breeding with viticulture, for which he developed a strong passion. He personally takes care of the technical part and the preparation of the grapes with great accuracy.
Stefania, who has achieved a Ph.D. in Law and the license to practice as a lawyer, organizes and supervises the administrative and commercial parts.
"The passion for wine has bound us very much during our 11 years of relationship. We have developed curiosity and love for the cultivation and processing of grapes and for the sensations transmitted by a good glass of wine.
These feelings have gradually grown and are still with us today".
In 2018, the first label was born, "CORO". Simplicity and elegance that does not contrast with humility, a fundamental principle that has been taught to us by our families and that fully characterizes us.
THE VINEYARDS
Tradition and Innovation
The vineyards are located in Campos, an area on the east side of Berchidda’s countryside, on the hills of the Limbara mount. They extend for about 4 hectares on three plots that differ in position, and therefore, exposure to sun and wind.
The vineyards are characterized by a variety of native white grapes such as Vermentino di Gallura (the only DOCG in Sardinia) and black grapes such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Bovale.
The company Càlibri has developed a balance between tradition and innovation. The vineyards are pampered and followed in a precise, almost obsessive way. The careful work and the small production allow the selection of the best grapes according to their position and exposure to sun and wind.
The processing of the vineyards as well as the harvesting of the grapes is carried out manually. The grapes are placed in boxes until they are processed using soft-pressing machines and then placed in steel containers maintained at a constant temperature. This procedure is crucial for maintaining the scents and characteristics that distinguish especially the Vermentino di Gallura.
